In 2007, IDAT established Noah’s Place Maternal Child Healthcare Unit to address the maternal and child survival challenges.

Clinic-based medical services began in the Tonj area in 2006.  It became clear that a specialization in maternal child healthcare was a critical need in South Sudan. Noah’s Place consists of an outpatient department, paediatric inpatient unit, maternity ward, emergency department, pharmacy, and laboratory. IDAT ministries focuses on integrating the Gospel of Jesus Christ into healthcare being delivered. Without this focus, we would just be another humanitarian aid organization, which is not our goal. Our trained chaplains preach the Gospel every day to inpatient departments. In addition, the chaplains discuss the Gospel one-on-one with every patient that passes through the outpatient department. We are blessed to see lives transformed every day by the Gospel through this healthcare ministry.

We are praying for the ability to upgrade healthcare services and facilities to move beyond a unit to hospital. To this end, we are providing support for a medical doctor to complete his education (expected in 2028).  We are also seeking funding for the construction, medical equipment, hiring and training that will allow for this expansion.
